Single Data Entry
Users can input information through ePortal which is transferred straight into the Facility Admin database. So as soon as a register is taken everyone in the school can track down any child. Parents can be given access to live assessment and attendance information and see that their children are safely in school
Attendance Records
Registers can be taken daily, providing full data that can be analysed to identify patterns that might explain and help with absences, and with reports. For post-primary schools registers can also be taken by session or lesson, the analytics can then help to explain and tackle truancy. Attendance data is automatically saved to the Admin database.
Remote Access
ePortal’s online access means that it is possible to read or enter data from a laptop computer or PDA/mobile device running Internet Explorer 7-8 for remote areas of the school or for staff on the move. This means that report comments can be completed by staff at home.
Event Logs
Both positive and negative behaviours can be recorded immediately to ensure a full and accurate record of every child’s behaviour. Having a complete list of events makes issuing rewards and sanctions simpler and more effective. There is no more need for paper records.
Simple Reports
Once entered through ePortal, assessment, attendance and behaviour information can be pulled into a student’s end of term report, providing a comprehensive picture of pupil performance without requiring additional work for staff.

The post-primary version of ePortal also includes a comment bank where a collection of useful, user defined comments can be added directly to reports to save time and reduce errors from repetitive typing. There is also a free text area for personalised comment.

Effective Cover Planning
For post-primary schools where cover tends to be internal staff rather than external, cover can be clearly flagged to the relevant teachers on their personalised ePortal homepage. Photographs on student records ensure no confusion of identities.
