Policy
Assisting with policy creation across various areas
Serco consultants have worked with dozens of institutions over the years and can bring assistance on best practice and business strategy in creating a useful and strategically aligned policy. To get this right is no easy task but many of the best practices are already in regular use across the sector and Serco’s experienced consultants can help your institution with this.
A timetabling policy should be a working document which supports and assists the timetabling process. The policy should first and foremost reflect the strategy of the institution to ensure that all related activities align with the business.
It should be designed within a framework of effective procedures and signed off within a governance system that ensures it stands up if challenged. Once in place, communication strategies should be used to ensure that it is familiar to all those who will be influenced by in their daily working lives.
It must also be accepted that as a working document, it will occasionally expose some areas which are new to the business or where social, economic or Political changes have resulted in changes to the way the timetables are generated and resources used. To reflect this, there must be an agreed pathway for changes to be submitted, so that the governance and communication safeguards can be maintained.
