Real Time Reporting and Parental Access
Setting up parental access to ePortal to enable them to track their child's progress
Increasing parental engagement and offering fast online information to parents is becoming more and more essential for all schools. Parental Access allows parents to keep up-to-date and makes it easier for them to track of their child’s progress, behaviour, attendance and achievements. For several years schools worldwide have used ePortal to allow parents to log in and view this information.
Serco Learning can assist schools with provision of real-time reporting and enable them to benefit from our experience with many schools introducing Parental access. Our Real Time Reporting and Parental Access service enables senior leaders from your school to work with our specialists to ensure a secure, controlled approach to achieving successful parental access to data through Facility ePortal.
Delivery - typically a two stage delivery led by our educational and technical specialists
Stage 1 – Our specialists will work with your school leaders to:
- Explain best practice and advise on visual content
- Discuss security options (username and password)
- Draft a roll-out plan
- Explain monitoring
- Advise on where further development could be useful e.g. effective uses of Notice Board and Document Store
- Complete a detailed specification of the school’s requirements
Stage 2 – Our experienced Technical consultants will work remotely to:
- Apply the technical aspects of the specification
- Demonstrate how to create usernames and passwords based on the specification
- Set up the visual content of ePortal based on the specification
- Coach on effective use of Notice Board or Document Storage if required
- Advise on server specifications
Optional school branding (additional to the above 2 stages)
We can also setup ePortal to have the school’s ‘corporate image’ rather than Serco’s branding. This is called a ‘skin’. For example we can apply school colours, logos and fonts to ePortal pages.
